Sick! @ The Zanzibar:
Friday 14th May 2010
@ The Zanzibar Club, Liverpool
Lineup:
Panic! Smiths + Morrissey Disco
Standard Fare
Kiara Elles
Suzuki Method
Tony was still happy with the Smiths Disco turnout but thought that the bands were a missed opportunity.
Standard Fare
Due to other commitments I thought it might be a good idea to give Andy a crack at booking the bands as after all writes an influential music blog.
Standard Fare was obviously an inspired choice as they were number one in this year's Dandelion Radio Festive 50, though to be honest they aren't my cup of tea.
Kiara Elles
I enjoyed Kiara Elles and had heard them on 6 music.
I'd been after Suzuki Method for a while but they always had other commitments, finally they were able to play our night.
Suzuki Method
The turnout was generally down, with even The Smiths disco not pulling as many as it usually did. Indeed we had a lot of people who were supposed to be coming, but none of them made it, all for different reasons. It was just one of those nights.
Unfortunately it was the final straw for Tony and whilst he was keen to keep The Smiths disco going, he wanted to take over booking of the bands.
