Sick! @ The Zanzibar:
Friday 26th February 2010
@ The Zanzibar Club, Liverpool
Lineup: Panic! Smiths + Morrissey Disco,
The Indelicates,
Bony Ghosts,
Marc Sutherland
Tony was keen for us to do another night, but only because of our Smiths disco had gone well.
I decided to focus on Panic! as a priority, Sick! second, and asked Rachael Dunn if she'd be interested in looking after the upstairs acoustic/folk acts which I'd named "The Folk Upstairs"
The Indelicates
This time around he didn't add any bands to the bill and we decided to stick to a more sensible number of 3. Ironically, having run like clockwork with 12 bands to sort out, with 3 it ran late!
Since the Smiths disco was the big draw, we went to town with it and Andy created some visuals whilst I bought a projector and screen, and got a big PVC banner for the stage.
Bony Ghosts
Andy knew The Indelicates and they were a fine choice of headliner, absolutely brilliant.
Bony Ghosts were from Warrington and I heard them on Tom Robinson introducing where they stood out from the crowd.
Bony Ghosts
Originally Ragz was meant to be playing but she had a sore throat so Marc Sutherland who was the upstairs sound engineer did a set. Talk about a small world, his band Peter and the Wolf is managed by Sarah Jane Thirtle who played Read the Fanzine way back at the Progress Bar!
The turnout was down on the previous night but still very respectable, and whilst a long way from breaking even, it looked like with a bit of work we'd have a successful regular night on our hands,
